Subtle Impermanence: Blink and It’s a Whole New World with Gen Kelsang Rigpa

Sunday, June 10th, 11:00am – 12:45pm

Do you like the idea of living in the moment? How can we actually live in the moment, in the present, in the here and the now? And do we really want to? Or do we try to distract ourselves from this moment because it is not very comfortable? In this age of distraction, depression, and worry there seems to be both great interest in and need for Buddha’s advice on how to actually be present and in the moment in a truly satisfying and meaningful way. In this four-week course we will explore teachings and meditations on patient acceptance, mindfulness and impermanence, gaining experience of spiritual insights that give rise to peace, happiness, and fulfillment for both ourselves and others.

Cost: $10 per person ; Audio Recording in mp3: $5

Venue: Meet Me On 33rd

1565 East 3300 South, Salt Lake City, UT

When the turbulence of distracting thoughts subsides and our mind becomes still, a deep happiness and contentment naturally arises from within.

Geshe Kelsang Gyatso -

Meditation classes offer the chance to learn how to make our mind calm and peaceful. By training in meditation we will learn to develop inner peace, giving us the ability to stay happy and positive all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances.

Meditation offers an opportunity to change the way we react to people and difficult situations in our life. Learn how to feel calm, peaceful and relaxed, no matter what problems are arising. Using simple yet profound techniques, discover how to feel happy and have a positive outlook by gaining more control of your mind through meditation.

In these classes, we learn meditations to unwind and relax, develop stronger concentration and to settle our busy minds.

Do I have to be a Buddhist to benefit from meditation?
No. Anyone can learn basic meditation and experience the benefits that come from having a peaceful mind. Buddhists respect all people and are happy to help anyone regardless of whether they subscribe to another faith, or to none.

No. All you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your life.

What do I need to bring to class?
Nothing in particular, just yourself; though you can bring a pen and notepad if you want to take notes.

How should I dress for class?
No particular clothing is required. Just dress comfortably.
